Cairo & Nile Cruise with a Dahabeya

Propelled by the gentle winds, sail into the past down the Nile like the pioneering voyagers aboard a traditional Dahabiya. Discover Upper Egypt and its treasures, the Theban capital with its fabulous temples and majestic tombs. Then you can visit Cairo, Egypt’s capital. The great Pyramids with the Sphinx guarding them, is a must see. The Egyptian Museum with Tutankhamen treasures can not be missed. And leisurely walk around the small and narrow alleys of the world-renowned Khan El Khalili souk…

Detailed itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival Cairo
Arrival at Cairo Int ernational airport. Meet and assist with formalities. Transfer to your hotel.
Accommodation and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Cairo - Luxor
After breakfast, visit the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx: Kheops, the biggest of all, Khephren and Mykerinos the smallest of the three, has its original cover till today. And the fascinating Sphinx with human head ( 57 m long) whose role was to guard the entry of the tombs against all offenders. Lunch in town.
Departure to visit the famous National Museum founded in 1857 by the French Egyptologist Auguste Mariette Pasha and transferred in 1902 to the actual building.
Lunch in town.
Then transfer to Cairo airport and flight to Luxor (1h flight).
Dinner and overnight in Luxor.
Day 3: Luxor
After breakfast, departure to visit the Valley of the Kings where 62 Pharaohs rest (visit 3 tombs). Then visit valley of the Queens where 75 Queens rest (visit 2 tombs).
Lunch in town.
Later on visit the Luxor temple.
Dinner and overnight in Luxor.
Day 4: Luxor - Esna (Dahabeya Embakration Day)
After breakfast, departure to visit the Karnak complex, the temple of Amon Ra whose fascination overcomes imagination, then transfer to Esna and join the Boat, crew will welcome you on board and have your bags taken to your cabins.
We will then set sail on your voyage to Aswan.
Overnight close to El Hegz Island
Day 5: Esna - Edfu
Morning Sailing gently l en - route route to Edfu; enjoy breakfast at your leisure, visit Edfu Temple by horse carriage, one of the largest and most intact of Egypt's monuments.
Two beautiful granite statues of the Falcon God Horus flank the entrance.
We will then set sail for our private island "El Fouza" where we will disembark for dinner served to you on the edge of the Nile
Day 6: Edfu - Silslea
We set off for the relaxing journey to the temple of Gebel el Silsila, another of our less frequented destinations. You will be amazed as we tie up alongside the Speos of Hormheb.
If possible dinner will be served in the grounds of the illuminated temple or on the upper deck of Boat whilst soaking up the tranquil atmosphere with music to match the mood.
Day 7: Silslea / Kom Ombo
Breakfast at your leisure as we sail on to Kom Ombo. Listen to the sounds of the water buffalo as they wade in the shallow water besides the banks of the Nile, the Donkeys as they go about their day to day business and the various bird life of the river.
Here we visit to the Greco Roman Temple at Kom Ombo. The temple building is totally symmetrical with two entrance's two halls and two sanctuaries dedicated to the Falcon God Haroeris (Horus the Elder) and the Crocodile God Sobek.
Lunch will be served as we head for a small island where we will moor for the evening and enjoy dinner at this atmospheric location.
Day 8: Kom Ombo / Aswan
Enjoy the privilege and luxury of days gone by as we sail to Aswan, the gateway to Nubia and the Sudan. We should arrive around 10am, giving you plenty of time to visit some of the highlights such as the Temple of Philae and the Souk, and unfinished Obelisk You will have lots of time to prepare for our Egyptian evening fun, with Egyptian cuisine, Arabic Music.
Dress in your bespoke Gallabeyah.
Day 9: Disembarkation
(Optional excursion) Early in the morning, to the Abu Simbel temples by private minibus. Visit the temple built by Ramses II. Then visit the second temple, called Hathour, dedicated to his wife Queen Nefertari, Return on board After breakfast, we bid farewell to the crew. Your luggage will be collected and will be ready for you to travel to your next destination.
(Optional excursion) Visit the St Simeon Monastery and Nobles tombes Lunch in Aswan in a restaurant.
Transfert to Aswan airport, flight to Cairo (1h30min flight).
Dinner and overnight in Cairo, near airport
Day 10: Cairo - Your destination
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo International Airport. Flight back to your destination.
